DACHSER at the CosmeticBusiness 2024 in Munich

The industry solution DACHSER Cosmetics Logistics will be taking part in CosmeticsBusiness, an international supplier trade fair for the cosmetics industry, on June 5 and 6 at the MOC Event and Order Center in Munich. The logistics service provider will be presenting its customized transport and logistics services for the cosmetics industry at Stand 09 in Hall 3. This is DACHSER's second time at the trade fair.

Professional truck drivers: Appreciation has right of way

Undoubtedly, theirs is one of the most important jobs in the country: without drivers and logistics, the wheels of the economy would literally stop turning, resulting in empty shelves in supermarkets and department stores. This makes the findings of the International Road Transport Union (IRU) all the more alarming: the freight forwarding industry is running out of young drivers. As many as 62 percent of carriers in Europe complain that they are having major problems recruiting people to drive their trucks.

Increase in truck toll rates in Germany

The German government has decided to increase the toll rates for trucks with a permissible total weight of 7.5 metric tons or more as of 1 January, 2023. Accordingly the toll rates for motorways and federal roads will be adjusted and external costs, such as air and noise pollution caused by trucks, will also be taken into account. These adjustments will result in an increase in toll rates in all classes. This must be taken into account in the toll tables of DACHSER.

The parliamentary groups in the German parliament have also agreed on a toll reform to take effect on January 1, 2024. This is to include the extension of the truck toll to vehicles weighing 3.5 tons or more and a CO2 toll.

DACHSER expands branch network in Poland

At the beginning of October, the logistics provider opened a new branch in Torun in northern Poland. The facility meets international standards for sustainable construction and has been awarded the BREEAM "very good" certificate.
