DACHSER appoints Ralf Morawietz Corporate Director IT
Ralf Morawietz has been in charge of DACHSER’s Corporate IT, which employs more than 600 people, since January 1, 2023. An experienced logistics IT manager, Morawietz is focusing on further developing the global logistics provider’s IT strategy and driving digitalization forward.
DACHSER in Linz expands its warehouse capacities
Logistics service provider DACHSER completed the expansion of its warehouse in Hörsching near Linz at the end of November. The company invested around EUR 4.3 million in expanding its logistics capacities. The additional warehouse and logistics space amounts to almost 6,000 square meters and offers an additional 10,500 pallet spaces to the previous 20,000.

Despite the current economic challenges, DACHSER is constantly creating new direct general cargo lines between its locations in order to densify its European transport network and optimize supply chains. This includes daily departures from all regions of Germany to the Iberian Peninsula, Spain and Portugal.
Training drivers to help reinforce DACHSER’s climate efforts
As part of a holistic climate protection campaign, the logistics provider is implementing a training concept for professional truck drivers by the end of 2023. This will significantly reduce harmful CO2 emissions through climate-friendly driving.
DACHSER Iberia deploys additional Duo Trailers
To expand its daily scheduled services between Madrid, Valencia and Castellón, DACHSER Iberia has put two additional Duo Trailer combinations into operation. Efficiency and climate protection go hand in hand here, as a maximum of 134 pallets of goods can be transported with one tractor unit.

DACHSER acquires logistics software provider kasasi
On October 25, 2022, DACHSER acquired a majority share in software provider kasasi GmbH. Based, like DACHSER, in Kempten in southern Germany’s Allgäu region, this SME employs 50 people. The two companies have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.
DACHSER uses the internet of things in long-distance groupage transport
Since the beginning of the year, DACHSER has added innovative smart tracking devices to 8,500 swap bodies it uses for long-distance goods transport between its European branches. This means transport containers can be tracked in real time and arrival times can be calculated precisely using the internet of things. Now DACHSER has launched a central platform for visualizing and analyzing all this position data—including from trailers and tractor units—and “wedding” it with the shipment data in the company’s transport management system.

The eActros, one of the first battery-electric production vehicles from Mercedes-Benz, is now in use at DACHSER. As the partner responsible for field testing, the logistics provider was heavily involved in developing the electric truck. André Bilz is Team Leader Truck & Terminal Equipment at DACHSER, where one of his responsibilities is commercial vehicle procurement. The digital twin in groupage handling
Together with Fraunhofer IML, DACHSER continues to advance the level of innovation in groupage logistics. In two digitalized transit terminals, a new system is generating a digital image of all packages, assets, and workflows. The resulting process improvements benefit customers, employees, and service partners alike.
DACHSER expands branch network in Poland
At the beginning of October, the logistics provider opened a new branch in Torun in northern Poland. The facility meets international standards for sustainable construction and has been awarded the BREEAM "very good" certificate.
DACHSER establishes three focus locations for electromobility

Hydrogen – the drive of the future?
Researchers at Kempten University of Applied Sciences have been commissioned by DACHSER to take a closer look at hydrogen as a CO2-neutral energy carrier in a study.
Hydrogen is seen as a hopeful candidate for the decarbonization of road transport. That's why DACHSER commissioned the Kempten University of Applied Sciences to conduct the "H2 Infrastructure and Logistics" study. The aim was to investigate the publicly available availability of hydrogen as well as the currently known production processes and refueling options for use in fuel cell-electric trucks in the period 2025 to 2030 for the European DACHSER Road Logistics network. The study shows: A number of challenges remain to be overcome in the search for a clean and sustainable fuel.
DACHSER delivers to Munich's city centre with zero emissions
DACHSER Emission-Free Delivery is being launched in the Bavarian capital. In a defined inner-city area, the logistics provider is now delivering all parcel and general cargo deliveries with zero emissions. FUSO eCanter electric trucks are being used for this purpose.
